Pennsylvania Department of Health Cup
Pennsylvania Department of Health Cup
A very old, porcelain mug/cup that is marked “Pennsylvania Department of Health” with the seal. This cup is cracked on the side, it’s broken on the base and the lip is also chipped, but it is so rare I couldn’t even find another to compare it to. John Wanamaker is signed on the bottom…so I did some research on his name, and here is what Wikipedia had to say, “John Wanamaker (July 11, 1838 – December 12, 1922) was an American merchant and religious, civic and political figure, considered by some to be a proponent of advertising and a "pioneer in marketing". He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and served as U.S. Postmaster General.” Which leads to the fun fact that our cup is pre-December 12, 1922.
